A Do It Yourself Pedicure May Be A Great Way To Relax

A lot of people love to kick off warm weather months with a pedicure. This way they can wear sandals during the warm weather and not worry about whether their feet look attractive. Plus, it gives them a chance to relax and unwind while their feet are being pampered. Pedicures often include a foot and leg massage and your feet are soft and decorative when you leave. The problem for some people is they are struggling with a foot infection and their discomfort when going to the salon. They may be undergoing treatment of toenail fungus. Long Island pinpointe laser toenail treatment center can cure treatment of toenail fungus problems. This leaves them feeling self-conscious about others seeing their feet. If this sounds like you, consider giving yourself a home pedicure. You will get all of the perks of pampered feet, but you will not have to worry about exposing them and having a technician handle them.

If you want an at home pedicure, be sure to gather the materials in advance so you are prepared once you begin. Get a bucket deep enough to fill with water and insert your feet into. Find soap with a relaxing or pleasant scent, or choose peppermint oil which is relaxing for your feet. To start a pedicure, fill a bucket with warm water and the scented oil. Also gather a variety of tools for nail care, a skin buffer, and lotion. You may also want to grab some reading material like a book or a few magazines. This makes it easier to relax and read while your feet are soaking.

Once your feet have soaked for about ten or fifteen minutes, you can cut and shape the nails. Now is also a good time to take the skin buffer and remove a lot of the dry, dead skin that builds up on your heels. Using a buffer, soap helps soften the skin on our feet. Following this part, dip your feet into the soap water again and swish them around to remove any dust and dead skin. Then you can remove them and dry them.

Now it is time to apply lotion. In spas, this may be the most relaxing, enjoyable step. Try a massage with the lotion at home. This is another chance to use peppermint, or you may prefer a lotion with a pleasant scent. Make sure you rub all of the lotion into your skin and that none of it remains on any part of the nail. Once the lotion is absorbed, it is time to add color. For summer, bright, fun colors are preferred. Typically on the feet, anything goes. Women can use bright, glowing colors, or deep, dark hues. Be wild and remember it can always be removed after a few days if you tire of it. A pedicure is a wonderful way to pamper you and make the most of sandal wearing weather. Try to enjoy the experience at home.
